Gendaito Signed: "Horii Toshihide." in full old polish and mounted beautifully with edo and later period accessories.
The hamon is subtle and wavy running thru the whole length of the cutting edge of the blade that has an O-kissaki.
Toshihide was born in 1886 and was the son in law and heir to Horii Taneaki.
Tosishihide was regarded as a preeminent Gendai Tosho was rated as a Yen 2.8million smith and he passed away in 1943.
