THIS SWORD WAS BOUGHT AND RETURNED TO AOI ART, JAPAN. IT WAS DESCRIBED AS FLAWLESS BUT FOUND TO HAVE KIZU IN HA AND CRACKS WHEN RECEIVED.
The info of this sword is retained as an education purpose only as the jihada of this sword is very beautiful. Another Juyo Token sword, Ko Yoshii, Sanenori #39 Juyo session has serious flaws undisclosed too and order was cancelled.

This beautifully polished blade is ranked as Saijo saku. It has a gold foiled double Habaki and housed in a shirasaya with Sayagaki done by Dr. Kunzan: Aoe Jyuyo Token Mizunoeinu Yayoii March)

Jigane :Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed
with jinie attach and chikei work.
like Chirimen hada and also clear Utsuri appear.
Hamon :Konie deki suguha with small gunome midare
with ashi, Yo work. Boshi is midarekomi kaen style active hamon.
Aoe School was prospering at the lower part of the Takanashi river in Bichu province during the late Kamakura era. This katana shows distinctive features of Aoe school though nakago has been shortened with no signature.
The Aoe School, regarded Yasutsugu in the middle Heian period as the founder had been prospered at the lower reaches of the Takanashi River, in Bichu province.
Swordsmiths of Aoe School were active in late Kamakura period to early Nambokucho period.
According to the Jyuyo zufu, this blade was made in Kamakura period.
This blade has very beautiful Jitetsu. (Koitame and komokume mixed well grained.) and
Utsuri elegant clear marvelous Aoe Chirimenhada.
This is a a dignified sword with clear hamon. And despite its age, the condition of the blade is very nice without any Kizu and flaw.
