SC0114

Azumaya Daido Gendaito in military mount.<br>

Katana Antique Japanese Sword, Signed: Azumaya Daido
Mino School, Made around WW2.

Azumaya Daido was a sword smith in Seki, Gifu Prefecture.

This is an excellent sword with a blade that is very sharp and in its old polish. It has a beautiful Togari-gonome-midare hamon and the hada is Ko-mokume-Hada.

It is mounted in a mint condition WWII Imperial Army-Gunto (Type 98) Koshirae for the officer class.

It seems that this sword was owned by a senior officer assigned to protect the homeland when Japan was on the brink of losing the war.
