An Itomaki Tachi by Higo Kuni Arimune, 19th Century
This is my first Japanese sword that I bought from Christie's auction in 1999 to commemorate the birth of my daughter.
The sword has a Dragon Horimon chiselled on its blade and comes with a Tachi Lacquer stand.
The very sharp cutting edge is 68.6cm and the tang is unshortened.
With its original accessories since 19th Century and in excellent condition despite its age.
Provenance: Lot 308, Christie's London Auction, 17th November 1999
It is not for sale nor exchange
