Kanemichi is one of the very few WW smiths that is rated as a Yen 2million smith and his swords are issued Hozon Certificate by NBTHK.
This sword was made made to commemorate the 2600 years of imperial reign and it has an extra long kissaki.
One side of the Tang signed Kanemichi saku ( Made by Kanemichi) and the other side chiseled, 2600 years of Imperial reign.
Kanemichi is rated as a Yen 2 million smith and his swords are very well made. The much sought after Yasukuni sword smiths were rated from Yen1 million to 1.8 million with 2 smiths rated as Yen 2 million.
The blade is shorter than normal at 62.5cm and the extra long kissaki has a big curve back.
The koshirae has elaborated floral design fittings and the menuki shows design of samurai clan mon.
This sword looks like a custom ordered for a shorter built civilian working for the military. The old saya is not in so good condition so I replaced it with a newer one.
I have a total of 8 Kanemichi swords in my collection.
