Kanenobu is of one of the four most skilled Mino modern smiths, rated as 2 million Yen in Tokotaikan. The other three were Watanabe Kanenaga, Kanemichi and Kanehide.
Two million Yen is also the highest rating given to the very best Yasukuni smiths by (Tokunou Kazuo). There were only two of them, Yasutake and Yasumitsu. None of the Minatogawa jinja smiths received ratings as high as this.

Cutting edge is 62.5cm and is razor sharp. This sword has seen a lot of actions during WW2 and its mounting has some age wear with a nice patina. It comes with a lieutenant or captain tassle.
