SC0049
Late War Officer swords were mostly made very sturdy and with a deep curve back kissaki for possible repair. Due to huge demand of swords to meet the war need, the order was to produce swords for the officers with least frills...foregoing all the brass furniture on the mounting.
This model 44 which was introduced in 1944, was copied from the ancient Jin-Tachi.
The hefty blade is 66cm long and believe to be made of anti rust steel with a subtle suguha hamon.
I have remounted it according to the ancient Jin-Tachi.
Private Collection.
