This painting shows the paint and plaster mixture characteristic of Mautrice Utrillo. It depicts a street scene, signed by the artist ending with an V on gunny fabric and still framed in its original crude wooden frame.
This painting has a small flake above the signature and could be easily restored back to its former glory.
The back of the painting has some wordings written and am seeking expert opinion.
I bought this piece from the widow of a late Singapore diplomat together with several other works of art. As my knowledge of Western paintings is limited, any comment on it is much appreciated.
