Rolex introduced the Prince models to the market in late 1928 and the platinum models were the most expensive Rolex watches in those days, costing as much as a family car.
The Classic “Brancard†model was more popular but not the Jump-Hour, which has a small window for the hour, making it hard to read the time. The dial may have been refinished long time ago with the crown and words added later.
What did not sell well in those days, make its availability rare today, and this model has become the ultimate vintage Rolex watch much sought after by all serious collectors today.
According to Christie's, only 3 examples had appeared at auctions to-date.
