This is a Naval blade made of anti rust steel with arsenal anchor mark and is very heavy and sharp. It is likely carried by a naval officer who was later assigned for working duties on land. The tsuba and its fuchi have no hole provided for locking mechanism and the combat leather cover is for field operation. The tassle is Naval brown but made of leather.
The menukis have clan mon showing the officer was from a samurai family background.
The blade has a cutting edge of 63cm and is very hefty and extremely sharp. The overall condition is excellent.
